34-pharmacies in the north of England are up for sale
Christie & Co has been instructed to sell 34 pharmacies on behalf of Whitworth Chemist Limited. Christie Finance can help assist with any funding requirements for you.
John Whitworth started his pharmacy business in 1967 and, after stepping out of wholesaling, established a new pharmacy chain, Whitworth Chemists Limited in 1999. Since then, the chain remained family-owned. The group trades from 34 community and health centre pharmacies located across the North of England - stretching from Blackpool in the West to Skegness in the East, and up to Newcastle in the North East. Across the portfolio, the average dispensing volume is circa 8,500 items per month, with volumes ranging from 3,000 items to 22,000 items.
David Ward, Senior Director at Christie Finance comments, “The specialist Pharmacy Team at Christie Finance is delighted to be able to support any potential buyers who are considering offering on any branches within this exceptional portfolio. There is still strong appetite in the finance market for funding pharmacies, but it is important to approach the right lenders with a well-prepared proposal, which is where we can assist. Whether you are looking for your first pharmacy or thinking of making multiple offers to expand your group, we can help to assess your options and provide the best solutions for you.”
The pharmacies, stretching from Blackpool in the West to Skegness in the East, and up to Newcastle in the North East, are available on an individual, sub-group and group basis.
