The award winning George Hotel in Cumbria purchased by experienced operator
The four star rated George Hotel in Penrith, Cumbria has been sold to experienced operator and successful business owner, Lei Ma with competitive funding secured by specialist commercial finance broker, Christie Finance.
The George Hotel is an elegant, Grade II listed property constructed in the late 16th Century equipped with 35 en suite bedrooms, a bar and an award winning restaurant. The hotel is positioned on Devonshire Street, a prime location within Penrith town centre. The George primarily operates as a commercial hotel during the week whilst also servicing leisure clientele and regular corporate clients on the weekend.
The established hotel has received several esteemed awards over the years including a ‘Four Star Guest Accommodation award’ presented by Visit England and ranks as number one for ’best value hotel’ in Penrith on TripAdvisor. A two AA Rosette award has been granted to the hotel’s on-site restaurant; the only eatery to receive this prestigious title in the Penrith area.
Lei Ma of Everbright Group is the new owner of the George Hotel. Lei holds a wealth of experience within the licensed and hotel sector having already acquired the Rossett Hall Hotel in Wrexham, the Wild Pheasant Hotel in Llangollen and the Stonecross Hotel in Kendal.
