Experienced pharmacist acquires pharmacy with huge potential on western Wales coast
Commercial finance specialist, Christie Finance, has supported highly experienced pharmacist, Tunde Olawoye, to acquire the goodwill and freehold of Central Pharmacy in Dyfed, southwestern Wales. The pharmacy was sold by our colleague, Jonathan Board of Christie & Co.
Central Pharmacy is a standard hours pharmacy that lies in the centre of New Quay, a thriving western Wales coastal town, sitting 30 miles south of Aberystwyth.
The pharmacy comprises a large two-storey property with retail space and a dispensary, alongside four-bedroom accommodation. It has thrived through word-of-mouth and dispenses 6,000 items per month.
Prior to this acquisition, Tunde worked as a locum pharmacist and as a clinical pharmacist. In 2017, he purchased Abbey Healthcare Pharmacy, located approximately 50 miles up the coast of his new acquisition, with the aim of learning how to run a community pharmacy.
Tunde has plans to extend the opening hours of Central Pharmacy and develop its services by implementing a consultation room. Furthermore, with the pharmacy being the only one in its nearby area, Tunde has an excellent opportunity to improve the business’s services, whilst working with the two GP surgeries nearby.
David Ward, Senior Director at Christie Finance, arranged the finance and comments, “Tunde was a delight to work with and I am really pleased that we have been able to secure the finance for him. The key to arranging a finance package for Tunde was to build a solid case based on his proposals, and to demonstrate to lenders that this deal would be worth their investment. With Tunde’s impressive knowledge in this sector, alongside his excellent work ethic, I am sure that he will make Central Pharmacy a huge success.”
