The Lime Kiln, located in the village of Porth-y-Waen near Oswestry, has been purchased by clients planning to reposition the site as a weekend hospitality destination. The funding, arranged by Max Mallinson of Christie Finance, was secured solely against the property.
The new owners, who bring considerable experience from the hospitality sector, intend to redevelop the site into their first owner-operated business. Plans include converting the upper floors into several lettable rooms, complementing the existing pub operation and encouraging longer guest stays in the Shropshire countryside.
The redevelopment aims to enhance the venue’s appeal to both local residents and visitors, creating a business that supports the local economy while offering high-quality accommodation and service.
Max Mallinson, Finance Consultant who arranged the funding, commented:
"I am delighted to have helped my clients with the purchase of the Lime Kiln. I know they have big plans for the business and I am confident that they will be delivered. They have the skills and expertise to really realise the full potential of this quality asset.”
