High end boutique hotel in Manchester purchased by tenant

The freehold of the Cow Hollow Hotel based in Newton Street, Manchester has been purchased by the current tenant and operator, Muj Rana with funding successfully secured by specialist commercial finance broker, Christie Finance.

The exquisitely designed boutique hotel was originally a Victorian era textile warehouse, situated in the Northern Quarter of Manchester next to some of the city’s hippest bars and restaurants. The hotel is equipped with 16 en suite bedrooms, all tastefully designed with hi-spec interiors and luxurious extras such as, free prosecco and nibbles.

Despite the business only operating since the early part of 2018, occupancy has been consistently high with the hotel rated number two out of 122 hotels on TripAdvisor for the best hotel in Manchester. In a short space of time, the hotel has received several accolades and positive reviews from The Times, The Guardian and The Telegraph.

Muj graduated from Nottingham University in 2003 with a degree in Economics and has since worked for various businesses including KPMG and Merrill Lynch. His most recent role was working for Credit Suisse as Vice President of Equity Research in London and Hong Kong.

It has been Muj’s lifelong ambition to operate a design-led, boutique hotel in Manchester meticulously designed using his creative flare.  He has made excellent use of the building’s industrial heritage, softening the exposed brick walls with artwork and other decorative pieces.

John Mitchell, Head of Business Mortgages at Christie Finance worked with Muj to successfully purchase the freehold of the Cow Hollow Hotel.
