Bridge Road Chemist is located in a local community retail centre, dispensing c.4,990 items per month.
Mithun graduated from Aston University as a pharmacist in 2009 and has since completed a Practice Certificate in Prescribing at the University of Reading. He was previously employed by Day and Lewis and Avicenna in Bristol, winning the Customer Care of the Year award at the Pharmacy Business Awards in 2016; shortly followed by being shortlisted for Pharmacist and Manager of the Year at the Chemist + Druggist Awards in 2017.
There is currently no consultation area available at Bridge Road Chemist, resulting in the pharmacy not being able to offer any advanced or enhanced services. Mithun recognises that this presents an excellent opportunity to refit the store to create space for a consultation room. This will enable the introduction of new and advanced services such as, flu vaccinations, needle exchanges, smoking cessations and many others.
He also plans to introduce private services such as travel vaccinations, anti-malarial and cholesterol checks. Mithun is a qualified independent prescriber which will enable him to offer treatments for recurrent chest infections, annual asthma and COPD reviews for patients that ‘Did not attend’ their GP appointments.
Mithun comments on his experience working with Christie Finance to secure funding “I would like to say I do not know what I would have done without Christie Finance. David Ward has been brilliant during the whole process. I first approached him at the Pharmacy Show at the NEC. After speaking to David, I realised that it was possible to follow my dream and buy my own pharmacy. The acquisition was not so straight forward due to a few issues along the way. David kept an eye on the whole process and was available to talk and offer advice and solutions any time. Really appreciate all the help from Christie Finance.”
David Ward, Senior Director at Christie Finance worked with Mithun. He comments “Bridge Road Chemist is an established business with real growth potential. Mithun has established a clear plan of how he can develop and improve the pharmacy and I wish him all the very best in doing so.”
