Established local business owners enter new industry

Mr and Mrs White of Gorebridge, Edinburgh expanded their business portfolio with the purchase of the Stobsmill Inn, transitioning into a new market with the help of specialist commercial finance broker, Christie Finance.

The traditional public house is located on the outskirts of Gorebridge situated approximately twelve miles South of Edinburgh city centre. The freehold property compromises of a wet led establishment with a beer garden to the rear, offering a sociable environment for customers to relax in.

Fiona and William White currently run a highly successful electrical business, White Testing Limited, and have been doing so for the last seventeen years. Stobsmill Inn encompasses the property itself and 0.23 acres of land, with a basement area of the pub currently used for storage purposes. The entrepreneurial duo intuitively decided to run their White Testing business from the basement to save the costs associated with a rental office.

Stephen McConalogue, Finance Consultant here Christie Finance, who supported the new owners in their purchase comments “My clients are very well known within the Bonnyrigg area due to the first class service they provide through their current business. They plan to implement change now they have ownership of the pub, including the introduction of food to increase footfall and turnover”.
