This freehold public house is a Grade II listed former Coaching Inn, which was built in the 14th Century. The building consists of a main bar & restaurant with a collection of letting rooms. The previous owners had been in place since 1989, before deciding to sell the business through Joshua Sullivan of Christie & Co.
The new owners, Mr Wouter Egeler and Miss Stephanie Hoving, have been tenants at the Horse and Groom Pub in Heathfield since 2015. Improving the trade and reputation of the site in their tenure at the business, they were keen to buy their own freehold pub and found the Horse & Jockey Inn the perfect match.
Nicole Jones, Finance Consultant at Christie Finance, approached the buyers to help find them secure the required funding. She comments, "We have helped a growing number of pub tenants to secure funding to buy the freehold pub they desire. Wouter and Stephanie are two top notch publicans that will take the Horse & Jockey Inn to new heights."
