Popular 17th century Oxfordshire pub purchased by local brewery owner

The Tite Inn, an exceptional country pub first acquired as a closed and derelict property 10 years ago and now often referred to as the “central hub” of Chadlington village, has been purchased by Oxfordshire Inns Limited, a newly established property company based in the local area. Funding to purchase the freehold was secured by specialist commercial finance broker, Christie Finance.

Situated in the picturesque Cotswolds village of Chadlington, within a “chocolate box” setting with immaculately kept gardens, The Tite Inn appeals to locals, tourists, walkers, and people seeking a destination pub and restaurant where they can enjoy first-class food and local ales.

The pub’s new owner, Oxfordshire Inns Limited, has a hugely experienced management team which includes Mr Jason Chipchase, who is also the CEO and owner of Chadlington Brewery, a partnership that’s sure to be beneficial to both businesses. Mr Chipchase has been supplying the Tite Inn for many years now and has an outstanding knowledge of the licensed sector.

Oxfordshire Inns Limited plans to rejuvenate The Tite Inn’s internal layout and equipment and add an outdoor cooking area. It will introduce music and comedy events to the pub’s calendar, and extend the business’s currently limited opening hours to maximise future trading potential.

Speaking of his experience of working with Christie Finance, Mr Chipchase comments, “Christie Finance made the process entirely practical for us. In uncertain times, their expertise and our vision worked seamlessly and introduced hugely valuable specialist knowledge.”

Chris Field, Director at Christie Finance orchestrated the deal and secured funding for the purchase. He comments, “It has been an absolute pleasure working with Jason and the team to help them purchase such a remarkable and historic public house. Not only will this give Jason, who is the proud owner of Chadlington Brewery, a fantastic platform from which he can sell his beer from, but also an opportunity to acquire one of the most idyllic pubs in the Cotswolds. There is extraordinary potential for this business, especially in the warmer summer months when I will be taking Jason up on the offer to blow the froth off a couple of his local ales in their beer garden!”
