Apple Kids Day Nurseries - Birmingham 

Apple Kids Day Nurseries Limited, owned and operated by Mr Shahid Khan, further expanded with the purchase of Rosslyn School in Birmingham, with funding successfully secured by Director Stuart Pawelcyzk of Christie Finance. 

Our client has purchased the freehold of Rosslyn School in Hall Green, West Midlands. The property will form part of the existing Apple Kids Day Nurseries portfolio. Mr Khan has operated Apple Kids Nurseries since September 2013, purchasing Apple Kids Nursery in Sparkhill, formally a vacant property that was converted into a day nursery. He also operates Apple Kids Nursery in Small Heath.

Rosslyn School is an independent school currently registered for a maximum of 120 pupils aged between two to 11 years old. A nursery also operates on the same premises with capacity for 15 pupils at reception and kindergarten age. Our client intends to expand the nursery and pre-school offering, creating an additional 31 places.

Xadus Holdings Limited - South of England 

Xadus Holdings Limited represented by family duo Mr Imran Mehdi and Mrs Syeda Mehdi, expanded their established portfolio of children’s day nurseries with funding secured by Christie Finance. 

The early years childcare group, known as Ashbourne Day Nurseries, currently own and operate eight leasehold properties across the South of England. This extensive portfolio has been developed using personal cash reserves without any additional lender support.

The funding arranged by Christie Finance has been utilised by the group to accelerate their growth plans, releasing equity from their existing leasehold portfolio. Imran and Syeda have been operating children’s day nurseries and pre-schools since 2008. The business focuses on delivering bespoke, family centric childcare combined with the commercial efficiencies of a larger corporate organisation.    

Elmhurst Pre School and Nursery - Staffordshire 

Elmhurst Pre School and Nursery located in a residential area of Staffordshire, was purchased by experienced business manager, Vicky Cartwright. 

The nursery is currently running near at full capacity, with a waiting list in place during peak times of the year. Elmhurst Pre School and Nursery prides itself on an ‘Outstanding’ rating awarded by Ofsted following an inspection in July 2017, making it extremely difficult for other local childcare providers to compete with such a highly esteemed nursery.

In 2013, Vicky began working as a project manager for a non-profit organisation in the educational sector, where she has continued to work for the past six years. Utilising her extensive business experience, with recent exposure to the childcare sector; Vicky decided to acquire a children’s day nursery that could be operated on a day-to-day basis by the existing management team.

Elmwood Nursery - Newton Mearns 

Elmwood Nursery in Newton Mearns, East Renfrewshire was purchased by highly experienced childcare operators Margrét Pála Ólafsdóttir and Thordis Jona Sigurdardottir, with competitive funding secured by Craig Dickson, Director at Christie Finance. 

The nursery has an operating capacity for 87 children having expanded the properties at the end of 2016. Elmwood is well established, operating in Newton Mearns for 18 years, enjoying a long-standing relationship with both East Renfrewshire Council and the Care Inspectorate.

The nursery’s latest inspection in 2017 delivered a ‘Good’ result with an average attendance in 2018 of 92%. Both nursery buildings were fully refurbished in 2016 with every room designed to be bright and spacious, furnished with an excellent variety of resources and playing equipment.

All play rooms have a Sonos sound system and employees are provided with a Samsung tablet to manage an online profile system, keeping parents updated with their child’s progress.

Margrét and Thordis both currently reside in Iceland, owning and operating Hjallastefnan, the largest privately owned educational company in Iceland comprising of a mixture of 18 nurseries and primary schools; educating over 2,000 children and employing 450 members of staff.
