I made a wish to buy The Steamboat – and it came true, mostly thanks to Nick Baker at Christie Finance. Purchasing any commercial property (especially, I suspect, a pub) is a scary prospect and securing the finance is definitely not to be dealt with by ‘amateurs’.
Christie Finance appears, quite rightly, to have the respect of the finance market. I started negotiations on the pub with Greene King over three years ago; Christie Finance was in at the beginning and has stuck with me ever since. Having secured the finance, they then helped to hold the deal together by liaising between banks, insurance companies, lawyers and the brewery – a real hand-holding operation!
The purchase was dealt with promptly, efficiently and their help and concern was definitely beyond the call-of-duty!
