Ynyshir Hall is a nine-bedroom, 16th Century, Welsh manor house situated in Eglwys Fach in approximately 14 acres of stunning gardens and woodland. The nine individually appointed luxury bedrooms all overlook the acres of glorious gardens and the house sits by the splendour of the Dyfi Estuary in one of Britain’s finest bird reserves.
Ynyshir Hall was originally used as a shooting lodge and was once owned by Queen Victoria. The hotel has achieved many accolades and accreditations, including the Catey Award for the Best Independent Hotel, and is a Relais & Chateaux member establishment.
The hotel has been sold to the previous owners, Mr and Mrs Reen, and the purchase was funded by Christie Finance. Kelly Catterall, Financial Consultant in the Manchester Office of Christie Finance, created a compelling mortgage proposal which interested a number of lenders. Kelly said “Our clients had extensive knowledge of the hotel, since they previously owned and operated the business. Despite the challenging lending environment, we were delighted to be able to secure the necessary funds to assist Mr and Mrs Reen to acquire the business and we wish them well for future.” Mr and Mrs Reen have intentions to further enhance the offering at the hotel and have expansion plans for the future.
Following an international marketing campaign, Christie Finance’s sister company, leading business agents Christie + Co, sold Ynyshir Hall on behalf of the administrators acting for the Von Essen portfolio.
Oliver Snowden, who handled the sale in the Manchester Office of Christie + Co, comments: “Ynyshir Hall is one of the most historic properties in the von Essen Hotels portfolio, as well as one of the most ideally located. We are delighted to have sold the hotel to someone who understands its history and reputation. We wish the new owners and the hotel every success in the future.”
