Local operator acquires his second Londis store in Ramsgate
The Maidstone Office of leading business agents, Christie + Co, has sold the Londis Store on Grange Road in the east Kent harbour town of Ramsgate to a local operator, who already owns a similar store in the same town. Independent mortgage brokers, Christie Finance, arranged the funding for the purchaser.
The business occupies the ground floor of a two-storey mid-terraced property and is a high quality unit, which was refitted in 2004. The sales area measures approximately 1,000 sq ft and leads to a rear store room and staff facilities. The self-contained two-bedroom living accommodation is located on the first floor.
The store is well stocked for the sale of a wide range of groceries, newspapers, magazines, beers, wines, spirits, confectionary, crisps and snacks, chilled produce, frozen foods, cigarettes, tobacco, toiletries, household items, ice creams, greetings cards, pet food, toys, stationery and a Bake ‘n’ Bite facility. There is also an in-house cash machine and also a photocopying service.
David Garrard, from Christie + Co’s Maidstone Office, who is handling the sale, commented; “The business was sold on behalf of Jane Bewick after 16 years in her ownership and she has established an excellent local reputation, due to the Londis corporate branding. The new owner is Ajay Patel.”
An asking price of £570,000 was sought for the freehold interest of the Londis Store and it was sold for an undisclosed sum.
