The lease of a hotel, bar and restaurant in Shrewsbury has been sold
The Bellstone Hotel, Bar & Restaurant, situated in the heart of the medieval town of Shrewsbury in Shropshire, has been sold to Darren Cassey, from Stafford, who previously worked as an operations manager for the Entire Pub and Restaurant Company.
Independent mortgage brokers, Christie Finance, arranged the funding for Mr Cassey and leading business agents, Christie + Co, handled the leasehold sale on behalf of the vendors.
Occupying a prominent position in the town, the Bellstone Hotel comprises a substantial three-storey property and comprises 18 en suite letting bedrooms, a 30-cover café area, a 40-cover bar area and a brasserie, with a mezzanine floor to accommodate 70. There is also an attractive terraced area which can seat up to approximately 30 people and is very popular throughout the summer months.
Mark Moody, finance consultant for Christie Finance, commented; “After speaking to the purchaser, Darren Cassey, it was clear that he possessed the skills to take over the Bellstone Hotel and run the business to the high standard that had already been set. Darren approached Christie Finance as the funding was going to require some imagination and the need to stretch the usual funding boundaries. Due to both Darren’s experience and the Bellstone’s existing trade, I was able to structure a unique and very attractive funding offer, with access to excellent banking contacts. This has allowed Darren to purchase the Bellstone and take the step up in business size. I know this will be a successful venture and I wish Darren the best of luck.”
The Bellstone Hotel, Bar & Restaurant was sold for an undisclosed sum from an asking price of £625,000 for the leasehold interest. Huda Arnaout, from Christie + Co, handled the sale on behalf of the vendors.
