A brother and sister team purchase a Hallmark gold crown greeting card and gift shop near Birmingham
A Hallmark gold crown greeting card and gift shop, with a Thorntons’ chocolate franchise, situated in the Hall Green area of Birmingham, has been sold to a brother and sister team.
Independent mortgage brokers, Christie Finance, arranged the funding for the purchaser and the sale was handled by leading business agents, Christie + Co, on behalf of the vendors, via its Birmingham Office.
Celebrations Hallmark occupies a prominent position upon the Robin Hood Island, situated on the borders of Hall Green and Shirley. Set back from the A34 Stratford Road, the property is a purpose-built two-storey end of parade unit, with ground floor trading areas of approximately 750 sq ft and a self-contained first floor office suite, with considerable staff and storage facilities to the rear.
The business was under the same ownership for 16 years and in 2004, the introduction of the Thorntons’ chocolate franchise resulted in a refit of the trading areas. Offering a range of high quality greetings cards, gifts and confectionery, the business has established a strong reputation, resulting in considerable repeat trade.

Matthew Grace, from Christie + Co, who handled the sale, commented; “This was the second instruction we received from the vendor, Kevin Fallon, after we previously sold his newsagent business. Celebrations Hallmark was marketed on both a freehold and leasehold basis and was sold to the purchasers as a freehold interest.”
The sale price was undisclosed.
