A well established residential home in Fraserburgh has been sold

A former manse located to the centre of the busy fishing town of Fraserburgh in Aberdeenshire, which has been converted into a care home, has been sold through the Edinburgh Office of leading business agents, Christie + Co.

The funding for the purchaser was arranged by independent mortgage brokers, Christie Finance.

Buchanan House Residential Home is prominently located at the Hexagon and is a substantial Victorian stone property, which once belonged to the adjacent Episcopalian church. The building is a stunning example of a large former manse and still retains many of its original Victorian features, such as crow stepped gables and attractive carved granite finishings.

Registered for 14 residential care, the accommodation is arranged over three floors and comprises 14 single bedrooms, with a self-contained flat on the third floor provided for the owners or staff. The property boasts an attractive walled garden, a patio area and a large parking area.

Martin Daw, from Christie + Co’s Edinburgh Office, who handled the sale, commented; “Buchanan House is a well established and reputable business and was sold on behalf of James Gavin, who is moving to France. This is the second home that new owner, Mrs Eleanor Mackay of Marchmont Homes Ltd, has purchased through Christie + Co.”

Offers over £500,000 were sought for the freehold interest of Buchanan House Residential Home and it was sold for an undisclosed sum.
