A rural care home near Carmarthen has been sold
Y Garreg Lwyd, situated within a pleasant rural location on the outskirts of St Clears near Carmarthen, has recently been sold to a purchaser, who has previously operated a care home in South Wales.
The sale was handled through the Bristol Office of leading business agents, Christie + Co, and the funding for the purchase was arranged by independent mortgage brokers, Christie Finance.
The original property; a detached house within a generous plot, which was built circa 1984, has been extended in recent years to offer further residents’ and owner’s accommodation. In addition to traditional residential care, the home also offers respite care.
Y Garreg Lwyd is registered for 17 residents and the accommodation includes 13 single rooms, two twin rooms, a dining room and two separate residents’ sitting rooms. On the first floor, the home benefits from three-bedroom owner’s accommodation, with a private balcony overlooking the countryside.
Russell Brooks, from Christie + Co’s Bristol Office, who handled the sale, commented; “The care home was previously owned by Mr and Mrs Williams and was sold to Mr Thomas so they can now take retirement after many happy years running Y Garreg Lwyd.”
Y Garreg Lwyd was sold for an undisclosed sum from an asking price of £1,000,000 for the freehold interest. Evan Morgan, from Christie Finance, arranged the funding for the purchaser.
