Horner News in Brinsley is sold to a purchaser from Nottingham, amidst strong interest
Acting on behalf of Mr and Mrs Horner, the Nottingham Office of leading business agents, Christie + Co, has sold their retail business, Horner News, which is situated within the village of Brinsley, just north of Nottingham.
The business occupies a detached property, with a ground floor retail area and a two-bedroom flat to the first floor, with a yard to the rear. Trading as a traditional newsagent, the majority of its income is derived from the sale of newspapers, magazines, greeting cards, tobacco, confectionary and chilled drinks.
Paul Shepherd, from Christie + Co’s Nottingham Office, who handled the sale, commented; “Mr and Mrs Horner instructed us to sell the business as they wished to retire and our marketing generated several viewings, resulting in a number of offers being received. It was eventually sold to a buyer from Nottingham, who had just sold his previous business and he now plans to extend and re-fit Horner News, as well as introducing an off licence.”
Horner News was sold for an undisclosed sum from an asking price of £265,000 for the freehold interest. Independent mortgage brokers, Christie Finance, arranged the funding for the purchaser.
