Christie Finance assists first time buyers to acquire a Great Yarmouth pub
Christie Finance, the independent mortgage broker, has assisted a couple from Essex to purchase their first freehold freehouse; The Clipper Schooner in Friars Lane in the resort of Great Yarmouth, Norfolk.
The Clipper Schooner, which dates back to 1938, is a traditional public house located in a residential area close to South Quay and within walking distance of the town centre. The business attracts a loyal, regular, local customer base and derives its income entirely from wet sales, with no food offering available at present.
The detached, two-storey property briefly comprises a main bar and games room on the ground floor, two-bedroom owner’s accommodation on the first floor and a beer patio and small car park to the rear.
Nicholas Baker, mortgage broker for Christie Finance, comments: “We were delighted to secure the necessary finance to enable the new owners, Bernard and Margaret Jennings, to purchase the freehold interest in the Clipper Schooner from Cygnet Inns from an asking price of £185,000. The Clipper Schooner is an established, easily-run operation which represented an ideal first time pub purchase for the couple, and we wish them every success in their new business venture.”
