A Somerset care home is successfully sold
After four years under the ownership of Deborah Reynolds, the Bristol Office of leading business agents, Christie + Co, is pleased to announce the successful disposal of Centenary House in Shepton Mallet, Somerset. Charlotte Burridge from independent mortgage brokers, Christie Finance, arranged the funding for the purchasers.
A delightful Victorian detached property located in the centre of the town, Centenary House trades as a residential care home registered for a total of 13 residents in 11 single bedrooms and one twin bedroom. There is also spacious four-bedroom owner’s accommodation that could provide additional client accommodation, subject to the necessary consents.
The vendor, Deborah Reynolds, has substantially refurbished and improved the business in recent years and instructed Christie + Co to dispose of the freehold asset to enable her to focus on other business interests. Following an active marketing campaign, she elected to sell the business to Centenary Care Homes Limited, based in Hampshire, who is actively expanding its portfolio of prestigious care homes for the elderly.
Rob Kinsman, from Christie + Co’s Bristol Office, commented; “We were delighted to secure the sale of Centenary House on behalf of our client and wish Centenary Care Homes Limited all the very best with its new venture. This sale illustrates the strength of the care market at all levels and for all types of property; be it purpose-built or period conversion.”
Centenary House was sold for an undisclosed sum from an asking price of £700,000 for the freehold interest, which included fixtures and fittings and goodwill.
