A couple from Jersey have purchased a hotel in Perthshire, with assistance from Christie Finance

A couple from Jersey have purchased the Ballinluig Inn Hotel, which is situated in the village of Ballinluig, just south of Pitlochry in Perthshire.

Independent mortgage brokers, Christie Finance, arranged the funding for the purchase and the sale was handed by leading business agents, Christie + Co.

The hotel enjoys a prominent trading position in the heart of the village and is a stone construction planned over two floors, with eight en suite letting bedrooms, a 28-cover restaurant and a newly refurbished split level lounge bar. The owner’s accommodation is provided in a separate flat, which is interconnected to the hotel and has its own separate entrance. There is lined parking to the front of the hotel and the sale also includes a two-bedroom static caravan, which is situated to the rear in a small garden/courtyard area.

The village of Ballinluig is well known to commuters on the A9, as it is the main route between central and lowland Scotland to the Highlands. The Ballinluig Inn Hotel is situated just off the A9 and is visible from the main road.

Adrian Foster, from Christie Finance, commented; “The purchasers, Mr and Mrs Mackintosh, are first time buyers, who wanted to move from Jersey to the Perthshire area and were interested in running a hotel. The Ballinluig Inn offered the couple the opportunity to achieve both these things and we were able to put together a deal for them at a competitive rate of interest.”

Offers over £425,000 were sought for the freehold interest of the Ballinluig Inn Hotel and it was sold for an undisclosed sum, plus stock at valuation.
