A well known Aire Valley pub changes hands

The Queen’s Hotel, a renowned public house and restaurant in the affluent Bradford suburb of Apperley Bridge in West Yorkshire, has been sold through the Leeds office of leading licensed property agents, Christie + Co, with funding for the purchasers arranged through their associate company, Christie Finance.

This long established public house is located in Apperley Lane, five miles from Bradford, eight miles from Leeds and just three miles from Leeds/Bradford airport.  Apperley Lane is an ancient route providing access to the crossing over the River Aire at Apperley Bridge.

The public house has a lovely rural setting within the Aire Valley with the dales and moors to the north, yet is close to the centre of Leeds and Bradford.  It benefits from its location close to the Leeds and Liverpool Canal and backing onto Woodhouse Grove private school in its 40 acres of land.

This substantial, detached, three-storey Victorian property is constructed of stone and was recently refurbished.  It briefly comprises a lounge bar, 40-cover dining room and 48-cover conservatory, three-bedroom owner’s accommodation and four further rooms, a beer garden with barbecue area and a car park.

The Queen’s Hotel has a well established reputation for great food and drink within a large radius. The business won a food award from its landlord Punch Taverns and was a finalist the next year.

The Queen’s Hotel was sold for an undisclosed figure after Christie + Co sought offers in the region of £95,000 for the leasehold interest. The lease runs until August 2020 and the current rent is £52,000 per annum.
