First time buyers acquire a newsagents business on Dunbar High Street
Christie Finance, the independent business mortgage broker, has assisted first time buyers, Joe and Elaine Wilson, to purchase Dunbar News, which is situated at the southern end of Dunbar High Street in East Lothian, with leading business agents, Christie + Co, handling the sale.
The business is located within a parade of retail units and occupies a single ground floor property within a four-storey stone building. The main income of the business is generated from news and magazine sales, tobacco, confectionary, soft drinks, greeting cards and gifts, as well as a number of paper rounds being operated.
Adrian Foster, from the Edinburgh Office of Christie Finance, commented; “The buyers, Joe and Elaine Wilson, from Humble in East Lothian, were looking to move into the retail industry and identified their ideal business through Christie + Co. They then realised the benefit of using Christie Finance to project manage their funding, whilst also incorporating Christie Insurance. The Wilsons wanted to move quickly to secure the business against stiff competition and we facilitated this by getting a loan offer on the table within a few days.”
Dunbar News was sold for an undisclosed sum from an asking price of £120,000 for the freehold interest and the sale was handled by Daniel Arrandale from Christie + Co.
