Norfolk hotel sale illustrates robust market
The Ipswich office of leading international hotel agents, Christie + Co, is pleased to announce the sale of the Park Hotel in Diss, Norfolk, to Sion and Tracey Davies from Worlington near Mildenhall in Suffolk, with Christie Finance providing the funding for the purchase.
The 19-bedroom Park Hotel, with its extensive bar, restaurant and function facilities, has been operated by Robin and Rhonda Twigge since 1993 when the business was bought, again through Christie + Co acting, at the time on behalf of Whitbread.
Over the intervening years the property has seen capital investment and improvement and the Park Hotel subsequently became one of the best known businesses in the town. Mr and Mrs Twigge also own the Swan Hotel in Harleston, which is on the market with Christie + Co.
Tim Gooding, director of Christie + Co, commented: “We are delighted to have advised in this case and we are of the view that this sale illustrates continuing market confidence in the hotel sector. We wish both vendors and purchasers good fortune in to the future.”
Nicholas Baker, from Christie Finance, commented; “The purchasers had been actively seeking the right opportunity in the hotel sector and are delighted to acquire the Park Hotel. With their drive and enthusiasm, I am sure they will be a success.”
The asking price for the freehold business was £1,200,000 but the sale price was not disclosed.
