Experienced chef becomes the new owner of the Enverdale House Hotel near Blairgowrie

An experienced chef has achieved his dream of running his own business, after purchasing the Enverdale House Hotel, which is situated on the outskirts of Coupar Angus, near Blairgowrie in Perthshire.

The funding for the purchase was arranged by leading independent mortgage brokers, Christie Finance, and the sale was handled by leading hotel agents, Christie + Co, via the Edinburgh Office.

The property was built in 1875 by an industrialist and it was converted by the war department in 1947 to house troops. It opened as a hotel in 1973 and is now a two-storey stone-built property, which has been substantially extended with the addition of single and two storey extensions to the side and rear.

The business comprises five en suite letting bedrooms, a lounge bar, a main function suite licensed for 300, a 56-cover Harvester Restaurant and an additional room, which can seat 60 and adjoins the function room, but can be separated. The three-bedroom owner’s accommodation is situated in the older part of the building.

The hotel was sold on behalf of Yvonne and Hamish Buchanan to Lee and Suzanne White. Lee is an experienced chef, who can be seen at a variety of exhibitions and this is his first purchase.

Adrian Foster, from the Edinburgh Office of Christie Finance, who arranged the finance for the purchasers, commented; “Lee and Suzanne White realised the benefit of using Christie Finance to guide them through the whole purchasing process and they really appreciated the advice we gave throughout. The help Christie Finance was able to provide was the key to completing the whole deal.”

Enverdale House Hotel was sold for an undisclosed sum from an asking price of £295,000.
