Christie Finance assists new management to acquire the Chateau Restaurant, Croydon
The Epsom office of independent mortgage brokers, Christie Finance, is delighted to have assisted new management with their acquisition of the Chateau Restaurant, which has a beautiful location and ambience overlooking Coombe Wood Gardens in Coombe Lane, Croydon, Surrey.
Situated just a few minutes drive from Croydon town centre, and easily accessible by tram, the Chateau Restaurant was established in 1978 within Coombe Wood House, a large, detached, late Victorian residence built in 1898 which subsequently served as a convalescent home and a children’s home. The property has been refurbished to provide a more up-to-date, modern ambience.
Open every day for lunch and dinner, the Chateau Restaurant is well established as the perfect place for entertaining business clients, friends and family and as an ideal venue for wedding receptions, private parties and functions. Comprising restaurant, bar, banqueting suite and four function rooms, the Chateau’s trade is split equally between restaurant and function trade. There are private rooms available for parties of 10-110 people and a selection of menus to suit all budgets.
The new management said that the refurbishment of the Chateau Restaurant was arranged by Christie Finance who ensured that funds were available to facilitate a smooth transition. Associate company Christie Insurance provided the insurance for the new management.
The chef and management team at the Chateau Restaurant have decided to stay on as part of the sale. No members of the current personnel will be changed as most customers are on first name terms with the staff.
A new day menu has been prepared by the head chef, Duncan Campbell, so that informal dining can be enjoyed in the restaurant and terrace, which has beautiful views of Coombe Wood Gardens, 14 acres of woodland and ornamental gardens providing an oasis of tranquillity in the middle of Croydon. Guests can choose from a range of drinks, light refreshments and freshly produced sandwiches or a full a la carte menu using all fresh produce at extremely good value.
